The story
Nell patrols a beach where tourism brochures look safer than the water. When a child collapses during a heatwave, the old brass lifeguard statue dives from its plinth and saves him. The town calls it a miracle until the statue begins pointing toward sand barriers, missing shade reports, and a mayor who polished away the warnings.
