The story
The mayor of Brightford outlaws darkness to keep the town cheerful. At noon, millions of moths arrive anyway, each carrying a tiny lantern and a paper apology. A skeptical electrician and a lonely school principal follow the parade to an underground switchboard where the town's grief has been stored for years.
