故事
Tessa Ward arrives at the wholly invented Meridian House expecting a routine settlement inspection and finds a warm vermilion column budding from the basement slab. The new structure learns from every footstep and pushes flexible vertebrae through kitchens, bedrooms and stair landings, protecting some residents while trapping others. With tenant Gideon Price reading the building's old creaks from inside his apartment, Tessa must teach the evolving spine to share weight instead of replacing the home it was born to save.
